Hyperfine launches Optive AI™ software in the U.S. and Canada, delivering a transformative leap in image quality for existing Swoop® portable MRI systems through advanced AI.
Hyperfine has officially launched its Optive AI™ software for existing Swoop® Portable MR Imaging system users in the U.S. and Canada. This significant technological advancement, which also powers Hyperfine’s next-generation Swoop® system, brings substantially improved image quality to the installed base of portable, ultra-low-field MRI systems.
Optive AI™ software enhances every stage of the imaging process, from noise cancellation and image acquisition to reconstruction and post-processing. The result is brain images with greater clarity, improved uniformity, and sharper anatomical detail, making the Swoop® system even more clinically valuable for confident diagnoses at the point of care.
The FDA cleared Optive AI™ software in late May 2025, and it’s also commercially available in Australia and New Zealand, with more international approvals expected soon. Hyperfine has already begun rolling out the new software to hospitals and outpatient neurology offices, with plans to reach all current customers in the coming weeks.
Early feedback from users, including Dr. Jennifer Villa Frabizzio (Chief of Neuroradiology, Jefferson Abington Hospital) and Dr. Chetan Shah (Chair, Pediatric Radiology, Wolfson Children’s Hospital), has been overwhelmingly positive, citing markedly improved resolution and a “true game-changer” for portable MRI.
Optive AI™ software is fully compatible with first-generation Swoop® systems, requiring no hardware modifications, allowing current users to benefit immediately from this next-generation image quality. It supports a wide range of patient populations and clinical use cases in emergency, intensive care, and neurology office settings.
Hyperfine’s President and CEO, Maria Sainz, emphasized that this is “more than a software update—it’s a milestone that reflects our commitment to sustained innovation, improved clinical performance, and driving the adoption of portable brain MRI across multiple sites of care.”
